Mystics for Everyday Living: Meister Eckhart
A Monthly Drop-In Online Event
DETAILS
Facilitated by Betsy Perry and Dan Quinlan For our next two Mystics sessions (June and July), we'll be gathering to talk about Meister Eckhart (1260-1328). One thing that sets Eckhart apart from many other well-known mystics is that he wasn't tucked away in an abbey or a hermitage, he was instead a very active writer, priest and administrator. To help us understand key points in his teachings, we'll rely on the words of Jim Finley, John O'Dononhue, and other students of Eckhart who translate Eckhart's ideas into modern and accessible language. Prior to each session, we'll send you some things to read and/or listen to. In that sense, these two sessions might be more like a book club. Although both sessions are on Eckhart, they are standalone sessions. We hope you can join us this month and/or next! The Mystics Series is a monthly drop-in online event exploring the wisdom of the mystics and how that wisdom might help us in our spiritual journeys. Each month we'll look at the life and ideas of a different mystic. Together we will learn, reflect, and connect, providing opportunities to better understand our own journey towards wholeness.
